Assisted Stretching: Restore Flexibility and Reclaim Ease of Movement

Assisted Stretching: Restore Flexibility and Reclaim Ease of Movement
Our one-on-one Assisted Stretching sessions are designed to help you move more freely, reduce tension, and improve your physical performance. Whether you’re recovering from a workout, addressing chronic tightness, or seeking better mobility, this service offers a results-oriented approach that may include myofascial stretching and release techniques tailored to your body.
What Is Assisted Stretching?
Assisted Stretching is a personalized, therapist-guided service that uses static and dynamic techniques to lengthen muscles, improve joint range of motion, and release tension. Each session begins with slow-paced, static stretching, where each stretch is gradually extended for 3–5 minutes to allow deep, lasting muscle and myofascial release.

As your flexibility improves over time, your practitioner may incorporate PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretching — a method that combines gentle muscle engagement and release to help you stretch more effectively.

Depending on the practitioner you book with, your session may also include elements of Thai massage, such as rhythmic movement and supported compression, or targeted myofascial techniques to release stubborn tension patterns.

Sessions are fully clothed — we recommend wearing workout or yoga-style clothing that allows you to move freely.
What to Expect During Your Session

Your practitioner will work with you to focus on specific areas of concern, using a combination of targeted holds and gentle movement to help release tension and improve mobility. Sessions are collaborative, and you’ll be encouraged to communicate throughout to ensure your comfort and maximize effectiveness.

Over time, your stretch plan may evolve to include PNF methods that engage and release muscle groups through resisted movements for deeper, lasting results.

Each session is tailored to your current range of motion, flexibility goals, and physical limitations.
Session Lengths
Choose the session that best fits your needs:
  • 45 Minutes – Upper Body Stretch
Focus on the neck, shoulders, chest, arms, and upper back.
  • 60 Minutes – Lower Body Stretch
Concentrates on hips, glutes, hamstrings, quads, calves, and lower back.
  • ___ Minutes – Full Body Stretch *in development*
A comprehensive session combining upper and lower body work for full-body relief and restoration.

Techniques That May Be Included
Each Oasis Massage practitioner brings their own background and specialties to your session. Depending on who you book with, your session may include a blend of the following techniques:
  • Static Stretching: Long-held stretches to gently lengthen muscles and fascia.
  • PNF Stretching: Advanced technique combining contraction and relaxation to enhance flexibility.
  • Myofascial Release (MFR): Gentle, sustained pressure applied to fascia to release restrictions and restore natural movement.
  • Thai Massage (Table-Adapted): Assisted stretches and compressions performed on a massage table to improve mobility and circulation.
  • Breathwork and Joint Mobilization: Techniques to help the body relax and respond to deeper stretching.
  • Passive Range of Motion: Gentle movement of joints by your practitioner to restore mobility.

We recommend reviewing our staff bios to find a practitioner whose approach aligns with your needs and goals.

Why Choose Assisted Stretching?
This service is ideal for anyone who:
  • Struggles with tight hips, shoulders, or hamstrings
  • Experiences stiffness or discomfort in the neck, including difficulty turning or looking over the shoulder (such as while driving)
  • Has limited range of motion (ROM) affecting daily activities
  • Wants to improve flexibility and joint health
  • Feels stiff from work, workouts, or injury recovery
  • Seeks a proactive approach to preventing injuries and muscle tension
  • Prefers a fully clothed, low-intensity alternative to massage therapy

Conditions That May Require Medical Clearance
As with all bodywork services, please consult your physician if you have a chronic medical condition or injury. Some conditions may require a doctor's release prior to treatment. Assisted Stretching is not a replacement for physical therapy or medical care.
