What should I expect during a fitness session?
This varies depending on whether you prefer personal training or sport massage services. Clients remain fully clothed and oil or lotion is rarely used. Techniques may be done on a massage table, massage chair, or floor mat. This is the most interactive of our services. Throughout the session, you will be asked to demonstrate movements relevant to your sport or goal, move against resistance, and demonstrate proper form for any homework given.
At the end of the session, your practitioner will give you homework that includes self-care, stretching, or exercises to do between sessions to help you maximize your results.

Massage & Manual Therapies for Fitness
Sports Massage
Sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares the body and mind for optimal performance. A useful component in a balanced training regimen, sports massage is designed to focus on areas that get overused and stressed from repetitive or aggressive movements to enhance pre-event preparation and reduce recovery time. Let us help you design a plan that will work with your schedule, level of activity and budget. This style of massage requires client interaction throughout the session. Session may include assisted stretching on a Yoga or Pilates mat; client should wear/bring clothes they are able to move comfortably in. Available for 30-min, 60-min or 90-min. Ancient Thai Massage (Nuad Bo Rarn)
During a Thai massage session, the therapist combines stretching, acupressure, and passive yoga positions to open the channels and restore the flow of energy within the body. These techniques are traditionally done with the client fully clothed on a padded floor mat. Many of the stretching & compression techniques can be modified for use on a massage table during other types of massages. Not available as a stand-alone service. Techniques get integrated into a sports massage, depending on LMT booked. |
Massage Cupping
This myofascial decompression technique uses soft suction cups to apply negative pressure to the skin & underlying tissues, creating both local & systemic benefits. Cupping can help reduce inflammation, increase circulation, and enhance the effects of deep tissue massage. Ask for a Cupping Add-on. Positional Release
Systematically release overactive muscles identified from postural analysis. Passive release techniques performed on a massage table. Client may be dressed or undressed; may be incorporated into a massage. Positional release is not suitable for clients with some joint replacements or clients with a history of DVTs/blood clots. Medical clearance may be required prior to receiving this service. |
