Frequently Asked Questions
What type of service should I book?
We know not everyone is familiar with massage industry terminology, so we organize our services based on your goals—not by technique. This approach gives our practitioners the flexibility to customize your session for the best possible results. If something doesn’t feel right during your session, just let your practitioner know—they’ll adjust within their training and scope of practice to keep you comfortable. Want more details? What parts of my body will be massaged?
During the intake process, the practitioner will ask if there are any areas you want focused on or avoided. If you don't like an area worked on, you do not need to justify it beyond informing your practitioner. A typical full-body session includes work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, shoulders, glutes, and upper chest (pectoral muscles). We work on the glutes over the sheet using compression and kneading techniques. We work on the abdomen over the sheet or by using a towel to cover the breasts while the abdomen is exposed.
Target areas services are not a full body massage.

Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?
Yes. It is very important that you complete the intake forms honestly and inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session. Certain medical conditions require approval from your doctor prior to receiving services.

How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches & pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. It is recommended that you drink plenty of water following your massage.

Do I have to get completely undressed?
It is entirely up to you what you want to wear. Full body massages are generally performed with the client unclothed, target area sessions with the client partially unclothed, and sports massage or chair massages with the client fully clothed. You should only undress to your level of comfort. If you undress, you will be properly draped during the entire session.
Will the practitioner be present when I get undressed?
The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet & blanket.
Will I be covered during the massage?
If you choose to get undressed for your session, you will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm & comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. If you remain fully clothed, draping will not be used.
