Insurance Billing for Orthopedic / Medical Massage

​Oasis Massage does not guarantee coverage of services by any insurance plan or carrier. ​

There will be a learning curve throughout this process so we want to thank you in advance for your patience as we learn the the most efficient way to handle claims on your behalf.  

​Insurance claims will be handled in one of two ways:

1. We bill the insurance company directly on your behalf -OR-
2. We provide you with the documentation you need to seek reimbursement.

This varies on a case-by-case basis, depending on what the insurance carrier allows us to do.  Treatments begin once coverage is verified or a payment plan is agreed upon. 

We have successfully billed the following carriers:

• Liberty Mutual (Auto Accident)

We cannot bill the following carriers directly:

• BCBS (out of network provider)
• Tufts (out of network provider)

We cannot guarantee these carriers will reimburse for services received.

​Why is Orthopedic / Medical Massage priced differently than other massage services offered? 
This type of massage requires a higher standard of care, increased responsibility, and advanced training in massage & manual therapies. We are also required to maintain HIPAA compliance, as well as maintain regular communication between our staff, the prescribing physician, insurance carrier, attorney, and/or employer (depending on the type of claim).
