Covid, the Holidays, & Massage

With the holidays right around the corner, leave it to 2020 to make that more challenging than ever before! The pandemic numbers are rising closer to home and we need to evaluate our policies to decide the best course of action moving forward. Our top priority during these uncertain times is keeping our staff and our clients safe.

What We Know:
  • The CDC and Mass.gov have reported that, as of November 18, the Town of Barnstable is now considered a red zone. This includes Cummaquid, Centerville, Cotuit, Hyannis, including Hyannis Port and West Hyannisport, Marstons Mills, Osterville, West Barnstable. We know many of us visit these areas on a regular basis.

  • Exposure is defined by the CDC as being in contact with someone within 6 feet for longer than 15 minutes. Unfortunately anyone who has gone to Barnstable or its villages under those parameters is asked to please reschedule their appointment for at least two weeks from their exposure date or until Barnstable is no longer considered a red zone.

What We Are Doing:
  • Our schedule on Thursdays will change to 12-7 for both Pallas and Ashley. This allows us to use Thursday morning to review any changes in designated red zones, which the CDC updates on their website each week. All Thursday afternoon appointments will be pre-screened that day based on the new information. We know this increases the chances of last minute rescheduling and hope that you reward our cautious approach with patience.
  • Because Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve fall on Thursdays, we will close these days instead of working our traditional half day. Pallas and Ashley will have openings on 12/21 & 12/28 from 9-4pm, to compensate for the additional closure.
  • Moving forward, our massage therapists have committed to quarantine at home when not working here at the office. Even our Office Manager will work more hours remotely to reduce the potential exposure between staff as much as possible. We want all of you to feel safe while still providing you with the massages you need!

Holiday Shopping:

We have exciting new inventory to offer in our online store. If you have hard to shop for friends or family, Mary can work with you to create the perfect gift for any holiday or occasion. Select the items you want included, with or without Mary’s assistance as gift concierge. She will arrange them artfully in the gift bag of your choosing and coordinate either a no contact pick-up or a no contact local delivery (for our home-bound clients).
